Everybody knows how serious bbq can be, this event will prove just that. There will be three categories for this years BBQ contest. The first category is The Professional which abides by the rules and regulations of the Kansas City Barbecue Association and is strictly for the skilled bar-b-que artist. The second category is The Amateur which lets anybody who likes to bar-b-que show off their skills. This can be just a group of friends or it can also be sponsored by a place of work.
The third category is
Tailgating which involves avid sports fans decorating their specific
area along with a featured dish. Judges for this category will consist of
the public voting on the best set up and selected judges will vote on the
selected dish.
The festivities will begin Friday, August 24 from 4PM -8PM with plenty of bluegrass and savory bbq. Saturday, August 25, 2007 the festivities will proceed from 10AM - 7PM with bbq and bluegrass throughout the day at the gorgeous Boone Hall Plantation. Tickets for 2007 Boone Hall Bluegrass and BBQ Festival are $17.50 for adults and $7.50 for kids 6 to 12 years of age. Kids under 5 get in for no charge. If you pay on Friday you can also come Saturday for no additional charge...not a bad gig..

Summertime is the perfect season for bar-b-que and bluegrass. At Boone Hall
Plantation, this June event will be the first annual Bluegrass and BBQ
Festival.
