2009 Charleston Parade of Boats

Christmas once again on the
waterways. The "Parade of Boats" in Charleston, SC, crosses through
the Charleston Harbor every year about this time showcasing their decorative
sea bearing vessels.
"Deck the Halls" and become a part of this Charleston event by registering
your boat with the city of Charleston, SC.
Each boat will get thoroughly inspected and prizes go to 1st,
2nd, and
3rd place boats. The categories are sail and power. There will
also be a "best in show" award going to the boat with the most points.
A captains meeting will be announced.
The "Parade of Boats this Christmas in Charleston" begins at
approximately 5:30PM near the Mt. Pleasant side of the area and finishes at
the end of Ashley River, (after parading down the Charleston side of the
Cooper River), around 7:30PM. This time is an educated guess after you
consider the weather and elements. Spectators will able to view The
Parade Of Boats from the Charleston Peninsula at approximately 6:30PM. A fireworks display will begin at
approximately 6:45PM and can be seen in the Charleston Harbor. These
time are approximate due to the weather, wind, current, tide, etc.
At the pinnacle of the "Parade of Boats" join holiday spectators in
watching an explosive fireworks show which can be viewed in the Charleston
Harbor (6:45PM). Dress warm and share some holiday cheer in Charleston, SC this
season.
Get a nice warm bowl of soup and sit in front
of that cozy fire or a nice cold one and "catch up" at
Charleston's finest restaurants and bars.
