ReBirth: A Celebration of New Orleans
August 5, 2006

Rebirth.  A suitable event name for a more than suitable cause in Charleston.  Organic Process Productions and Domain Magazine have put together a live music benefit, paying homage to the victims of Hurricane  Katrina, which nearly tore apart New Orleans just about a year ago.

This Charleston South Carolina event will be held  Saturday, August 5th from 7pm to 10pm.  Live music will fill the air with the
ReBirth Brass Band. These New Orleans natives have traveled the last year touring the US, sharing their funky, unique sound and positive vibes as a reminder of the rich tradition of New Orleans. ReBirth has joined many famous artists such as:  Allen Toussaint, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Lenny Kravitz, Bette Midler, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkle, The Funky Meters, The Neville Brothers, Elton John, and John Fogarty.

Along with plenty of New Orleans style tunes, eats, and cocktails, catch Farrah Hoffmire’s upcoming documentary entitled Falling Together in New Orleans. “This event, like the film, is about a full expression of New Orleans’ unique culture and the people who create it.”  Proceeds benefit New Orleans Common Ground Relief, Tiptina’s Music Foundation, the New Orleans Kid Camera Project, and the Falling Together film.

The Rebirth celebration will be held at the College of Charleston Stern Center Garden, located on the corner of George & Coming Streets in downtown Charleston, SC.

Fine dining, a bar and grill, or even one of our dives will feed your taste buds and quench your thirst. Bar hop before and after "Rebirth"  and help support Charleston South Carolina's local  restaurants and bars.
