Thanksgiving day in
Charleston, South Carolina is held on Thursday, November 26, 2009. A
day we give thanks for all that we have been blessed with.
Thanksgiving Day is also a day where we stuff ourselves to the brim on
Thanksgiving Dinner, drink merrily, and watch NFL football. (Green Bay
Packers at the Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders visiting the Dallas Cowboys,
and New York Giants visiting the Denver Broncos)
One may be
traveling to our beautiful holy city for an extended weekend getaway.
For us locals, we just get to live in this wonderful culinary rich city and
take advantage of Thanksgiving in Charleston with out all the hustle and
bustle of travel. Whichever category you may fit in, Charleston

open on Thanksgiving. Have drinks with family and friends after the
feast or stop by O'Brion's to get a away from the family and friends!

Enjoy a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet with all the traditional foods at
Middleton Place Plantation on Thanksgiving Day 2009. Middleton Place will
host "The Pavilion Thanksgiving Buffet" which will include; Carved
Herb-Roasted Turkey, Sweet Corn Pudding, Carved Honey-Glazed Ham, Steamed
Vegetables, Cornbread Dressing, Collard Greens, Roasted Red Potatoes with
Fresh Herbs, Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, White Rice,
Organic Mixed Greens Salad with a Middleton Vinaigrette or House-made Ranch
Dressing, Cranberry Sauce, Corn Bread, Biscuits. For dessert enjoy Pecan
Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Pie.
After stuffing yourself silly, stroll around the plantation grounds to
view America's oldest landscaped gardens, the plantation stable yards,
chapel, the rice mill, and the freedman's cabin. Carriage rides will also be
available. Get a head-start on your Christmas shopping at the Museum Shop
and Garden Market & Nursery.

ballroom with several carving stations, seafood displays, a wine bar, and
