Raval is the definition of a traditional European establishment. A wine bar flush with dark oak and soothing candle light. Small plates, an open air kitchen, and now open in the rear, a chic lounge with Moroccan flair.

Raval’s menu was fashioned by creative local chef Mike Lata. It includes simple Spanish dishes such as;  an egg and beet salad, quite a bit of Serrano ham and Manchego cheese pairings, and my personal favorite, goat cheese with wild berry honey and fresh red seedless grapes.

Raval’s lounge, located in the tail of the Charleston tapas bar, is open Thursday-Saturday with live music.  It has very cozy curtained banquets and a bar…just the right size.

A “Spanish heavy” wine list with a few other varieties, wrap up their quite reasonable prices and unique theme.
