Slightly North Of Broad
Restaurant or SNOB Restaurant and Bar Charleston is a must-eat whether local
or visiting the historic Charleston, SC area. Slightly North Of Broad
or SNOB is just 1 block from the Charleston Market, located on East Bay
Street. This Charleston fine dining restaurant resides in an old brick
warehouse dating back to the 19th century and was the 1st restaurant the
coveted "Maverick group" started with.
Chef Frank Lee is one of the
amazing fine dining chefs Charleston is lucky to host. Chef Lee takes
all the freshest, local, sometimes organic
ingredients to compose a menu boasting French techniques. Fresh seafood,
games and meats are SNOB's specialty. The lunch and dinner menus at
Slightly North Of Broad (SNOB) restaurant offers these culinary local gems
in a somewhat unique manner.
First SNOB offers a soups and salad
portion on the dinner menu with such dishes as Oyster Stew and a Beet and
Spinach Salad...personally two of
my favorites.
Next a Medium Plates category of
the menu offers dishes a tad smaller than a full entree such as shrimp and
grits, a Charleston, SC staple. This SNOB dish uses local Anson Mills stone
ground yellow grits. The shrimp are also local when shrimp season is
in full swing...we are quite lucky to have these succulent crustaceans for a
good part of the year.
Next, the entree section of the SNOB's
menu shines with locality as Chef Frank Lee offers such menu items as;
Grilled BBQ Tuna, with a glaze of mustard bbq, topped with fried oysters,
country ham and green onions and a Vegetable Plate offering a variety of the
best local veggies SNOB can find.
An intercontinental wine list,
weekly specials, savory sides, and a selection of desserts also will help to
contain ones appetite to complete this culinary expedition.
Slightly North of Broad Charleston
has a bar area where one can catch a quick cocktail, glass of wine, or an
on-the-go lunch. An open kitchen at SNOB Charleston will entertain
with the sights, scents, and sounds of the lowcountry fine dining meal from
which you are about to indulge upon. This gives the SNOB restaurant a
full view of these culinary masterpieces and creators in action.
Slightly North of Broad
Charleston, SC can accommodate dining parties up to 12 people. For
larger groups contact SNOB for more information. High Cotton and Old
Village Post House are also components of the Maverick group which can
accommodate larger parties such as wedding rehearsal dinners, company
parties, holiday parties, birthday parties and business meetings.
Slightly North Of Broad serves
dinner nightly at 5:30PM. Lunch at SNOB is served Monday - Friday
11:30 - 3PM. An express lunch is available for those limited on time.
Slightly North Of Broad Restaurant
and Bar Charleston, SC will be an overload sensory experience one should
cherish and remember as a culinary lowcountry delight. A must-eat!
